Leadership team at the Animal Rescue League of NH-North grows even stronger
The leadership team of the Animal Rescue League of NH-North welcomes Tiffany Barrow-Rogers to the new position of Managing Director for the Conway shelter. Joining current Conway Director Virginia Moore, President and CEO Caroline Boyd, and Bedford-based VP of Operations Lindsay Hamrick, Barrow-Rogers’ focus will be on managing all aspects of shelter operations, including HR and the Volunteer Program. Moore’s primary focus will continue to be development, community relations, events and marketing. The two directors will lend support to each other and work closely with team members Boyd and Hamrick.
“This is the solution I personally have been hoping for,” said Director Virginia Moore. Having a team of dedicated animal care professionals working together in their individual areas of expertise is magic. With the help and support of the community we can achieve the goal of helping more animals and their human counterparts.”
Barrows-Rogers is returning to New Hampshire after serving as Chief Operating Officer of the Washington Humane Society in Washington, DC. Prior to her position with the Washington Humane Society she served as Director of Operations for the Monadnock Humane Society in Swanzey, NH, where she oversaw an animal care program that achieved one of the highest adoption rates for animals in the nation in an open-access shelter.
“I am excited to working with Virginia and the ARL staff and board of directors to help take the Conway shelter to the next level of serving the community in the North” said Barrows-Rogers.
Barrows-Rogers will be relocating to the Valley with her husband, three children, five dogs and three cats.
The Conway Area Humane Society and the Animal Rescue League of NH entered into an affiliation in November of 2009. As a result the Conway shelter has been able to put new policies and procedures in place and has increased animal intake by 11% and adoptions 12%.
“Because the shelter is such a critical community resource we felt it was important to have a strong local management team able to focus full time on the needs of the community” Boyd commented. “We are excited about Tiffany joining our team and encourage all shelter supporters to stop by and get to know her.”
Although affiliated, the two shelters remain separate non-profit entities and rely on their local communities to keep them operating. There is a false impression by some that the shelter was acquired and is now funded by Bedford; however, to the contrary each community must support its own shelter and the Conway shelter relies primarily on financial contributions from local individuals, with additional revenue coming from local fundraising events. Neither shelter receives state or federal funding.
ARLNH-North is a nonprofit, all-inclusive animal resource center dedicated to the human/animal bond — Encouraging it through animal adoption and education; Protecting it when threatened by violence, disaster or emergency; and Respecting it when broken by death.
