Ace
Ace came to CAHS after being rescued by a local veterinarian. This kind and happy little dog was emaciated and appeared to be starving to death. Dr. Kramer, our shelter veterinarian worked with the dog staff to come up with a diet that would put weight back on him, but getting him to eat was a challenge.

Angus
Angus was found lying in the snow, left for dead. The good people who found him brought him to CAHS, not knowing if he was dead or alive. Upon arrival he was wrapped between two heating pads, and despite this he didn't register a body temperature for over an hour. .

Dozer
Dozer is a loving, handsome, two-and-a-half-year-old chocolate Lab with a very sad story. He was surrendered to the shelter because his owner did not have time for him. Dozer arrived very skinny with a giant thirst, drinking bowl after bowl of water.
Initial X-rays showed an enlarged kidney, and a biopsy was recommended. Dozer made two trips to a veterinary specialist in Portland, and was diagnosed with liver shunt disease.

Ollie and Atlas
Ollie, a Dumpster kitten who's still on the mend from antifreeze poisoning, inspired his rescuer to set out a Have-a-Heart trap, on the chance of rescuing his missing litter mates. But what she caught was Atlas, a scar-faced tomcat with just enough street smarts to know a second chance when he sees one.
